How to prepare for my photo shoot?

Your photoshoot is all about celebrating you! Whether it’s a self-love session, a creative branding shoot, or a way to mark a special moment, these tips will help you ease into your session and make you enjoy the process.

Share your vision with me

Let me know what you have in mind! Is there a mood, a story, a color palette or specific shots you are envisioning? The more we share ideas, the more we can bring them to life. Feel free to send over inspiration in whatever form for your session. If you are someone who prefers to flow and feel it on the spot, I also welcome improvisation! Make sure to complete my form so I can best lead you through the session.

Wear something that makes you feel amazing!

If you’re unsure about what to wear, choose outfits that make you feel comfortable, confident, and you. Bring options that reflect your vision, layers and textures can go a long way (like a scarf or your favorite hat). These will add variety, dimension and interaction during the session. Keep it comfy, avoid anything itchy, too tight, or distracting. You want to focus on feeling good, not adjusting straps or buttons. I encourage you to let your clothes move with you. Flowy fabrics and clothing you can easily walk and dance in. Don’t forget the shoes: comfy or barefoot can look just as beautiful. I always suggest to keep it neutral and timeless. Earth, neutral tones (olive, mustard, terracotta, navy, cream, or beige) and solids flatter skin, photograph well and usually compliment the environment. Avoid bright neon shades, bold patterns and logos as they can reflect onto your skin and create unnatural tones in your photos. They also tend to overpower natural settings. If you're taking group or couple photos, try coordinating without matching exactly. Choose colors that complement each other instead of everyone wearing the same outfit. Remember where we will be shooting and dress accordingly! Choose outfits that belongs in the environment, better than ones that go against it!

Personal Touches

Bring along meaningful props or accessories that represent your style or story. Whether it’s a musical instrument, a piece of jewellery or ceremonial tools, these little details can add depth to your photos. Plus, they give you something to hold or interact with, making the moments feel more natural. Incenses, palo santo and smoky props can be a fun element to play with as well!

Embrace Movement

Don’t be afraid to move! Walk, twirl, laugh, dance… Actions create natural, dynamic photos. I’ll guide you through poses and moments, but it’s often the in-between moments that bring out the magic.

Bring Your Playlist

Music can set the tone and help you get into the flow. If there’s a playlist or artist that makes you feel like your most confident self, let’s have it playing in the background! If you are looking to promote your own music, let’s hear it!

Trust the Process

You don’t need to “perform” for the camera. Just be you, and I’ll do the rest! My job is to find the light, angles, and moments that bring out your essence in the most genuine way.

Hydrate, Rest and Treat yourself!

A good night’s sleep and staying hydrated will give you a natural glow. Think of your session as a mini celebration so take a moment to pamper yourself, whether it’s a quick meditation, a favorite snack, or anything that helps you feel good in your body.

What to bring?

I’ll bring all the equipment needed for the session and some extras just in case, but here are some things that you can bring:

Clothes, accessories and personal props for your session.

Umbrella (if it’s the rainy season) or sunscreen in the dry season.

Bottle of water to stay hydrated and a snack (if you get hangry like me).

A small mirror if you want to do outfit changes or check your makeup.
